What is a Box of Love?
A Box of Love is a food box given to a needy inner city family for Thanksgiving.  The Box is provided by Here's Life Inner City and distributed through the connections of local inner city churches. These churches are the best to give these boxes out because they know best where the real needs are in their neighborhoods.

The basic ingredients of each box are:

  • (1) 3 or 5 lbs canned ham (The ham may require refrigeration)
  • (2) 15 oz cans of green beans
  • (2) 15 oz cans of whole kernel corn
  • (2) 15 oz cans of carrots
  • (1) 16 oz can of cranberry sauce
  • (1) 2 lb Bag of Rice
  • (1) 14 oz box of corn muffin mix
  • (1) 5 lb bag of potatoes
  • (1) Package Kool-Aid drink mix
  • (1) 16 oz Stuffing
  • (1) 29 oz can of yams
  • (2) Package of pudding mix of (1) Brownie mix
  • Evangelistic Material (A New Testament or complete Bible)

How are the boxes given out?
The boxes are given to over 30 compassionate, Christ-centered, inner city churches all across Kern County. These churches are 'experts' on their neighborhood and therefore know best how to use the boxes.

Who receives the boxes?
Kern County inner city families are the recipients of these boxes. These are families that would have little to nothing for their holiday meals without a Box of Love.

Who is Campus Crusade for Christ?
Campus Crusade for Christ International is an interdenominational ministry committed to helping take the gospel of Jesus Christ to all nations. We cooperate with millions of Christians from churches of many denominations and hundreds of other Christian organizations around the world to help Christians grow in their faith and share the Gospel message with their fellow countrymen.

Working together with these fellow believers, our goal for this decade is to help give every man, woman, and child in the entire world an opportunity to find new life in Jesus Christ. Our commitment is based on our Lord's command:

"All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you: and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Matthew 28:18-20 (NAS)
